DROPKICK MURPHYS SET TO RELEASE A NEW ALBUM “LIVE ON LANSDOWNE, BOSTON MA MARCH 12 TO MARCH 17 2009, SEVEN SHOWS, SIX NIGHTS” CD, CD/DVD & VINYL IN STORES MARCH 16, 2010.

We have tried to capture the intensity and camaraderie of our annual hometown St. Patrick Day shows on our next album release “LIVE ON LANSDOWNE, BOSTON MA”. The album will be released on March 16, 2010 via our own label Born & Bred Records.  ”LIVE ON LANSDOWNE” is the second in our live album series & features what we think are some of your favorite songs on CD, DVD & vinyl.

Recorded during our string of St. Patrick’s Day shows in 2009 “LIVE ON LANSDOWNE” features an entirely different track listing from the previous DKM live album release. The new live album will come out on three formats; single CD, deluxe double disc version with full-length DVD and double gatefold vinyl with bonus CD.

We will have more updates on the album progress and exciting news about how to pre-order the album for you next week.

We had a great time ringing in the new year with a performance at the NHL
Winter Classic held at Fenway Park in Boston. It was an amazing day & an

The NHL announced today that the Dropkick Murphys will be making a special appearance at the 2010 Bridgestone Winter Classic at Boston’s Fenway Park on New Year’s Day.

Dropkick Murphys will perform prior to the historic outdoor matchup between the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday January 1st, 2010. NBC will provide live broadcast coverage of the game and the performance in the U.S. and in Canada, CBC and RDS will televise the event live.

The Murphys will open the historic outdoor game at Fenway Park with a performance of their signature song, “I’m Shipping Up To Boston”.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Dropkick Murphys are performing at the 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic,” said Don Renzulli, NHL Senior Vice President of Events & Entertainment. “As performers and as hockey fans the Dropkick Murphys bring a new level of excitement to this historic game.”

Last year’s NHL Winter Classic at Wrigley Field attracted the largest U.S. audience for a regular-season NHL game in 34 years. The 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, a celebration of the sport of hockey and a return to its roots, will be the third regular season outdoor NHL game played in the U.S. and the fourth overall.

There are multiple ways for fans throughout North America to tune in to the event on New Year’s Day. NBC will provide live broadcast coverage of the game in the U.S. and in Canada, CBC and RDS will televise the event live. The NHL Network will offer all-access pre- and post-game original programming. And 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston, WIP Radio in Philadelphia and SIRIUS XM Radio will carry the live radio coverage with NHL.com providing extensive and comprehensive digital video coverage.

Hello All,

Well, we actually did it…we got our first event off the ground on just 3 weeks notice. The Claddagh Fund “Skate in The Park” at Fenway was by all accounts a big success. I’d like to thank all the people involved for making this such a first class experience; the attendees, the event committee, the volunteers, the sponsors, the celebrity attendees, the individuals and businesses that donated auction items, the House of Blues, Red Sox, the Bruins, and  the NHL.

The opportunity to skate on the ice at Fenway Park was truly a once in a lifetime experience. The skate was great as well as the pre and post skate functions. It was awesome to have our first event be such a success but also to have it be such a family friendly atmosphere made it that much more special. The looks on the kids faces as they sped around the Winter Classic ice, took pictures with their hockey heroes and hi- fived with Bruins mascot Blades was priceless.
