We are excited to announce that the Dropkick Murphys will be performing at all the 2009 Big Day Out shows in Australia & New Zealand. As you may already know we are big fans of the land down under & are looking forward to making the trip back there. Especially during the summer!

For the first time ever we have had both our support bands pull out of a tour at the last minute. Luckily we were able to grab two other great bands who jumped at the chance to come out & play for you guys. Main support now is the Angel City Outcasts from Los Angeles & the opening band is Everybody Out from good old Boston Massachusetts.

Please see updated ticketing information for our November shows here. We know a lot of you are not happy about the exorbitant ticketing charges some of these agencies whack on nowadays & neither are we (yes, Ticketmaster is especially ridiculous). Unfortunately there is not much we can do about it as in nearly every case the venues have agreements in place with the agencies that we are not part of. What we suggest you do is always buy your tickets from the venue box office or retail outlets noted below. In most cases the ticketing charges will only be a dollar, maybe two at the most. You get to bypass the agencies, support your local retailer & save some much needed cash in these crazy economic times.

Hey everybody not sure if you all know but our good friend Forrest Griffin the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion has been coming into the ring to one of our songs for sometime now.
Well we got together and decided it would be cool to do a T shirt together. So as of now we have available this awesome DKM /Forrest Griffin shirt here on the website… hope you like. We were very sad to hear earlier today of the passing of our dear friend Ronnie Drew, a founding member of the Irish folk group The Dubliners. Ronnie passed away in Dublin after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 73.
Ronnie was an inspiration to us all and it was a huge honor to be able to work with him last year when we recorded “Flannigan’s Ball” together.
He was the genuine article; a talented artist, a humble man and a wonderful spirit. He will be sadly missed and dearly remembered.
Ronnie is survived by his two children and five grandchildren. Our hearts & sympathies go out to his family & loved ones.

Ok, there’s no way in hell we’re ever going to win one of these things but we just found out that “The State Of Massachusetts” is up for a possible MTV Video Music Award nomination for “Best Rock Video”. We think all our friends at Picture Park, Kris Meyer, Brian Scannell & everyone who worked on the video or had a part in it did a fantastic job, on a shoe string budget, to come up with something great so it would be awesome for them to get some recognition for all their hard work.
This year MTV is letting the public vote online to determine which videos will get nominated. Voting has already started and runs until Wednesday 11.00am EST.

We made it safely across to Germany, kicking off the tour tonight in
