The show on July 11th scheduled for Hadlock Field has been moved to Cumberland County Civic Center due to some issues we had getting the show set up in a way we thought the fans would be happy with.

The Portland Seadogs have a game the night before the show which meant we would have had a very short amount of time to set up the stage, lights & sound. This in turn meant we needed to have more crew working on the grounds and the stage and production had to be driven onto the field with trucks. The groundskeepers at the park had serious concerns about what this might do to the condition of the field in the middle of the season so they suggested a different layout. The new proposed layout had the stage further away from the seats and on an angle. We wouldn’t have been happy putting on a DKM show like that where the audience would have been so far away from the band or in a spot where it might be difficult to watch the show.

The other two baseball park shows are good to go as we are able to bring our production in much earlier and have time to carry all the equipment onto the field, leaving less of a footprint on the park grounds. We are able to put the stage, lights and speakers where we need it to be to make two great shows.

Fortunately the Cumberland County Civic Center which is just around the corner from Hadlock Field is available & we are able to easily move the production into that venue & put on a better show that we think you guys will be much happier with.

Any tickets you have are still valid so no need to do anything, no need to swap them out or change them. All tickets that say Hadlock Field will be good at the Civic Center. Also, the good news is that the Civic Center is all general admission so those people who held off buying tickets for Hadlock Field as they did not want reserved seating can now get the GA tickets they were after. Here are the new details:

Thanks to everyone that came out to see us in Australia, Japan & Honolulu. The tour was awesome & we had a blast visiting some of our favorite cities. A bunch of us ended the tour with some much needed R&R in Hawaii but we’re back on track now & getting ready for our US tour starting in Philly on the 28th. Looking forward to the shows with the Bosstones, the minor league baseball park dates are going to be a great time. We’ve also added a couple more club shows to that tour please see new dates below. Lastly, we’re very excited to announce we will be going to Mexico in July playing shows in Mexico City & Monterey. Details about those shows will be announced in the next few days.

Yes, the Dropkick Murphys are playing the Boston Red Sox minor league baseball parks and will be joined by our friends the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. What better way to spend a summer evening!

As a special offer to our DKM mailing list we have a limited number of “Season Pass” tickets which are good for all three shows. It took 86 years for the Red Sox to break the curse so this 3 ticket package is priced at $86.00. You will get tickets to all three shows at a reduced rate and you will have lower booking fees. We all know the ticketing agents love to jack up those ticketing charges on top of the ticket price. Buying all three tickets together means you only pay them the one time. Gates for all shows open at 5 PM, Rain or shine. All shows are all ages. There is a four ticket limit on this offer.

Dear Friends, this is Ken Casey from the Dropkick Murphys and let me start by saying thank you for taking the time to read this!

Over the years you have been great to us and been so helpful whenever we have asked for your help.

We have always tried to be diligent in making sure that our communications with you via this mailing list have been strictly for DKM related topics since thats what you signed up for. But for one instance I hope you don’t mind if we make an exception.

For those of you that do not know, I am involved in a great fund raising effort that is very important to me on the behalf of a dear friend of mine, Brendan Brady. Brendan is a 6 year old boy that needs our help and I am asking for that help now. Brendan’s parents Timmy and Dianne are life long friends of mine and there son Brendan is a vibrant six year old boy who has Cerebral Palsy, along with many other neurological disorders and a visual impairment that were sustained at birth. Although it has been a huge struggle Brendan has made some great progress through a number of different therapies that are very time consuming and expensive. At this time Brendan still does not walk on his own. He cannot communicate verbally and is in constant need for intense sensory input.

We are now in the final stretch for reaching our pre-event goal for the Brendan Brady Fund. Next Sat,May 17th is the event (www.brendanbrady.org) and we wanted to be at $50,000 prior to the actual evening. Our focus was to raise donations through 3 initial donation methods, Corporate Donations, Personal Donations and the Harley Raffle.

We are only $9,000 short of our goal! To everyone that has been help, great job!

I am asking you personally to help make a difference in Brendan’s Life and donate what ever amount you can ! Even a small amount will make an enormous difference to a great kid that needs so much to continue his development during his life.
